About Us

We have created and sold our unique White Doe Originals bags for 30 years
in Old Town in Albuquerque, NM, Santa Fe, Taos, Arizona, and across the
Southwest. Now its time to offer our distinctive wearable art to you -
Our Friends old and new, through our new website.

We are sisters who were raised by creative parents who taught us the
basics of ceramics, pottery making, flower arranging and many other
crafts. Our First creations as adults were porcelain jewelry and porcelain
buttons for sweaters and coats, which we sold in Portland, Maine where we
resided at the time. In the 1970's we added a larger button to a tapestry
cosmetic bag. Then we made larger buttons to put on Tapestry shoulder
bags as closures.

We moved to New Mexico in 1978 when we were inspired to add genuine
Turquoise stones which are hand carved turquoise animal fetishes and sterling
silver charms to our unique handmade button/ closures. We changed to
a sturdier stoneware clay which we now use for our handmade buttons.

We are happily living in New Mexico where we continue to be inspired by the
Geology, The Sky, The Culture and the wide open feeling of being able to create
anything we can dream of.
